What it is

Hair restoration here uses PRP, platelet-rich plasma made from a small sample of your blood. The platelets carry growth factors. Placed in the scalp, they support follicles that have started to weaken.

It's a gradual treatment. Hair grows slowly, so changes take three to four months to show. It works best on follicles that are still active, which is why starting early tends to help.

What it can do for you

PRP supports the hair you have. It doesn't create new follicles.

  • Thinning at the crown can look fuller.
  • A widening part line can look less noticeable.
  • Early thinning at the hairline can slow down.
  • Existing hair can look thicker over time.

Is it right for me?

PRP suits men and women with early to moderate thinning where follicles are still active. Areas that are fully bald need a surgical option, and we can refer you to our sister practice, Stone Surgical Arts. Your provider will look at your scalp and history first.

Not recommended if

You're pregnant or breastfeeding, take blood thinners, have a platelet or bleeding disorder, have an active scalp infection, or have an untreated medical cause for your hair loss, such as a thyroid problem.

Who does your treatment

Scalp injections by a nurse practitioner.

Brooke, our nurse practitioner injector, prepares your PRP and places it across the thinning areas. She'll plan your sessions and track your progress with photos.

Questions

The ones we hear most.

How soon will I see new hair growth after PRP?

Usually at about three to four months. Hair grows slowly, so the change builds over the months that follow.

How often do I need PRP hair restoration sessions?

Most people start with a short series spaced about a month apart. After that, maintenance every six to twelve months helps keep the result.

Does PRP hair restoration work for women?

Yes. PRP is used for thinning hair in both men and women.

Will people know I've had PRP hair restoration?

Probably not. Your scalp may be a little tender for a day, and you can style your hair as usual the next day.

Is PRP hair restoration the same as a hair transplant?

No. A transplant is surgery that moves follicles. PRP supports the follicles you already have, with injections only.
